Platforms Engineer

Randstad is currently working with a public sector client to find a Platforms Engineer on an initial contract until 16/10/2026 with likely extension.

Client: A Government Owned Corporation in Queensland
Contract: Until 16/10/2026 initially with strong likelihood of extension
Pay Rate: $900 a day + super
Location: Fortitude Valley Brisbane with WFH flexibility

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Platforms Engineer to join a dynamic digital team dedicated to delivering resilient and innovative platform services. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to provide advanced support, implementation, and consultative advice, ensuring the high performance and quality of critical infrastructure. Technical Skills: You will be managing Azure, M365, Power Platform, Certificates, AD and IaC via GitHub and Azure Devops.

Key Duties:

• Provision, deploy, and optimise technology infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments using automation tools and scripting.
• Monitor system performance and security metrics to investigate and resolve operational issues while ensuring adherence to security policies.
• Manage the lifecycle of changes and problems, identifying remedies and collaborating with teams to implement preventative measures.
• Plan and coordinate release activities across multiple stakeholders, ensuring deliverables meet defined quality and security standards.
• Enable data availability and integrity through formal governance processes, master data management, and metadata structures.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in aligned technology areas (or 7 years of experience if no degree is held).
• Advanced technical expertise in systems integration, build activities, and configuration management.
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, CCNA, MSCE, or PRINCE2 are highly advantageous.
• Experience with any of the technical acumen is ideal: Azure, M365, Power Platform, Certificates, AD and IaC
